The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline offers safe, free, and non-judgmental support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for people experiencing emotional distress, substance use problems, or thoughts of suicide. Trained counselors can de-escalate a crisis, help create a safety plan, and connect people needing local treatment options or other support resources. They are also a helpful source of support, comfort and information for people worried about loved ones or friends.

The Orono Coalition is proud to support the 988 campaign by spreading the word throughout the community about this important resource.

Thanks to a generous donation from Trinity Lutheran Church, metal signs (see left) will be installed in various community locations. Our hope is to continue to saturate the community with these signs and posters to increase awareness about this life-giving campaign. A special thanks to our local business, SignPro, for donating the brackets to install signage. This is truly a collaborative effort!
